In the everlasting search of the perfect steak, it is a known fact that paying a little extra will go a long way. Meat lovers voted unanimously that it’s not just the marinating of the meat that gives it the flavor, but it’s the piece itself. Storage and aging is everything when it comes to meat, and no one understands that better than Prime Cuts co-owner and founder Mustafa Al-Shawwa. Stumbling upon the concept of a high-end gourmet meat shop abroad, Mustafa embarked on the journey to bring this concept to Kuwait. Having fallen in love with the taste, he decided to research the market here carefully and thoroughly to see how it would be possible to import meat into the country. Hygiene is his number one concern, and it’s reflected in the appearance of the store. The place is clean and freshly scented, with polished counters and a great display. For customer satisfaction, behind the counter you can see the certifications and approvals of their meats hanging on the wall.

Finding the lack of chilled (fresh) gourmet meat, Mustafa decided to bring in only the best there is. Now the difference between chilled and frozen meat is simple; the marbling. When the fat around the meat is white, that can only mean that it’s been frozen, therefore hasn’t sucked up all the juices and won’t be as tender. The marbling process is incomplete, making the meat not as fresh tasting. Chilled meat on the other hand, has yellowish fat all around it, meaning that with proper aging, it has sucked up all the juices making it not only taste better, but even look and smell better. Marbling is the tell-tale sign of how fresh, juicy, and tender the meat will be.

Supplier to Meat Company, Munch and others, Prime Cuts makes sure that the meat standards remain the same in order to continue satisfying the needs of these restaurants and his very own customers. Australia being the second best source of Wagyu beef (Japan being the first), Mustafa made sure to import it from there. Not only is the meat fresh and tender, but it’s also 100% Halal. Approved by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Australia, it still goes through extensive testing in Kuwait to get the necessary approvals. Vacuum packed meats, perfectly marbled and extremely rich in juiciness and tenderness, their meat is a work of art.

Steaks, minces, and burgers, nothing stands in their way of delivering nothing short of the highest quality meats. All the cows are grain fed for a certain number of days, the more the number of days, the better the taste. The aging process is important in terms of taste as well; the tougher the meat the longer the aging process takes. Not only is the place a butchery, but a gourmet store as well. The shelves are stacked with gourmet products such as oils, vinegars, sauces, and pastas that are there to give you the full gourmet experience. With a delivery service as well, you are guaranteed to get your fresh meat anytime you want. Prime Cuts is the place to go when looking for the perfect meat for the sizzling summer barbeque.
