In my imagination animals and humans converse in a universal
language, and not just simple positive and negative signals, but long, epic
tales of glory, defeat, love and loss. If such a narrative were possible,
imagine the stories a sixty-year-old turtle, found on Kuwait’s busy 5th Ring
Road, could tell. Did he arrive here in a small aquarium only to become the
abandoned pet of a child who moved on to greener pastures? Or perhaps he was
born near these dusty shores, a shielded observer of Kuwait since 1940’s. Sadly,
